This past Thursday night I hosted 100 or so friends at Sharespace in Houston for my "Devi 2.0" brand reveal and a sneak peak at the new projects I'm working on (more about that later!)
Sponsored by the great folks at Kroger, Eddie V's, Hennessy and Spoiled Latina we had music provided by DJ Supastar and DJ Shante, Curated cocktails, small bites, Vegan treats courtesy of Edubalicious treats and lots of posing practice (I'm obsessed) thanks to Just Say Cheese Photobooths!
And as if being able to share your dreams in front of friends with strong drinks wasn't enough, this L.A transplant was honored with a proclamation announcing May 26th as Devi Brown Day in HTX! To be recognized as a community leader humbles me deeply. I believe service to others to be a duty of each of us and in every moment I try to positively impact my listeners, either through my daily midday show on 93.7 The Beat or via my weekend community show, The Beat insider, where we have had important conversations about challenging subjects and been a place that connects people with much needed resources over the last two and a half years.
Council member Dwight Boykins, someone I admire so much in the city did me the honor of proclaiming my day (big smile as I typed that) and shared a beautiful speech with the crowd about my endeavors. I'm so grateful!
I also want to say a HUGE thank you to Yvonne Guidry of Spoiled Latina and Monique Hobbs of MoPower Management for working so hard to make this beautiful event come to life! Sutra Jewels for my fabulous earrings and CJ Martin, thank you for always coming through with beautiful coverage!
I know I skimmed over the "new projects" part at the begin-ing of this post, buuuuut... more details coming soon I promise! So excited to share more about my new business and foundation!
Now check out a few of the night's pics :)
